I have had two WordPress blogs hacked into in the past. That was at a time when I was doing very little internet marketing, and until I found time to address the situation (months later), these sites were penalised in the search engines. They were not removed, but the rankings were reduced.

Exclude pages - This plugin adds a checkbox,"include this page in menus", which is checked by default. If you uncheck it, the page won't appear in any listings of pages (which includes, and is ordinarily restricted to, important site your page navigation menus).
You can extend the plugin features with premium plugins such as: Amazon S3 plugin, Members only over at this website plugin, DropShop etc.. I think this plugin is a good choice and you can use it.
Implementing all of the above will take less than an hour to finish, while making your WordPress website more immune to intrusions. Sites were cracked this past year, mainly due to easily preventable safety gaps. Have yourself prepared and you are likely to be on the safe side.
